The Fairy Door in Spring

speech room fairy logo final

The snow is finally beginning to melt, and the warm Spring sun is begging to come out and play. Our Speech Room Fairy (view our Fairy Pack for sale on TPT by clicking here) is hanging up her jacket and excitedly anticipating the annual Spring Scavenger hunt! But first she must get busy dressing the place up for this festive event.

Our little friend starts by decorating her door with lively streamers and a mini pom-pom wreath. First loop shreds of tissue paper around the ends of a pipe cleaner (cut to length of door) and affix your craft to frame the doorposts:

We decided to use pastels to give our door an Easter feel, but you can choose to go bolder with your colors for a more “Springy” effect.

To create the wreath, draw the shape of your wreath on cardstock and cut. We used a traditional circular version, but you can choose whatever you’d like…perhaps an Easter egg shape to suit the season.

Then you simply glue your mini pom-poms on until the stock is covered and have your fairy friend hang it on her door for a start on a cheerful scene!

After sprinkling a bit more of the bright confetti around her yard, some of her guests begin to arrive. If you shop early in the month, you can probably find tiny chicks already assembled at most dollar stores. If you miss your window, don’t fret! Create your own baby chicks out of leftover mini pom-poms and a bit of glue as illustrated in the photos.

Now that everything’s ready, the Speech Room Fairy has a treat for the kiddos….and for teacher too! The final clue in the set calls for a surprise, and you can find plenty of themed treats this time of year. We decided to go with speckled mini-eggs:

These cute candies come in many colors. You could mix them up to look like Easter eggs, or use only blue for a Springtime touch as they look exactly like little robin’s eggs! These would also look adorable set in a crate outside of our tiny friend’s door as in the picture above.

Remember we have a Speech Room Fairy bundle for sale on TPT with lots more activities involving the Speech Room Fairy:
